Our friend's little turtle needs a new home.
Little turtle was bought on impulse by her sibling who hasn't been able to provide proper care, and our friend is unable to keep it in the rental unit which she stays in despite willing to help.
As friends of ours know, we already have a team of 8, hence we weren't able to take little Torty in.
Torty is an adorable girl and deserves a warm & caring new home.
Please help spread the words and link us up with someone (family) who is keen and committed to take care of Torty for the next few decades; Turtles can live a long life so please be prepared.
As Torty is a girl, she can potentially grow up to the size of your 14inch laptop.
If you cannot afford a long tank to let her swim in, these semi-aquatic turtles can be housed outside water. Just ensure that you feed them in a tub that's deep enough (see storage PVC boxes) n longer than them enough for them to paddle in for good exercise n retain their ability to swim/float in a water body on a daily basis.
Torty needs minimum 1-2 feeding each day, if water is provided in her environment, it has to be changed regularly to prevent harmful bacteria growth from her poop/food debris.
We, as proud owners of 8 turtles, is glad to help & guide the new owner who is willing to take Torty in.

In Loving Memory, Our Yin He Galaxy.
5th Jan 2015 - 3rd Jun 2018
Yin He came a very long way, he is a true fighter who doesn't give up easily. Yin He came to our family on 5th Jan 2015. He was actually quite sick when he first arrive, but because of his strong will to survive and fight, we managed to nurse him back to health during the 1st year.
Yin He is always so cheerful and cute, we love to see him invent his play ideas and teach other Cosmos members as well. He is the first member to start to push around the Starbucks cup holder stack and influence others in doing so.
Yin He is mischievous and playful at times, yet always a sweet little boy. Yin He is such a darling.
He has really fought well with his upper respiratory infection and had to go, we can't bear to see him go but, we can see that he is really very tired and has really fight till the end.
It's a blessing that our Yin He Galaxy passed on during his sleep, while beside all other Cosmos members. Yin He we love you and will always will. Yin He we will always remember you for you live in our heart.
Hope that you are in a much better place without pain and sufferings. Yin He you are free to travel to places you can go and do remember to come back to visit us whenever you can. Yin He, if we are fated to meet, may you be reborn into our Cosmos Clique Family someday.
We love you so much Yin He. Thank you for bringing us so much bundle of joy and happiness in these 3 years plus. Have a great journey and afterlife our darling.

Hi All!! It has been a REALLY LONG time since Cosmos Clique has any updates on the blog. Am very sorry for the disappearance over such a huge amount of period. But, we are back!!! As there are new members being introduced to the Cosmos Clique, there's no way we could exclude the photos of our new members isn't it? And here's the updated Header Photo (version 2) for our Cosmos Clique!  Not sure if you guys still remember the old look...    In addition to the new (and latest) photos of our Cosmos Clique members, we also added some background information on each of the members; like how we met them as well as their 'birthday date' that we have decided for them. There was a period of time where some photos and videos were lost due to the 'death' of FiOh's desktop's hard disk, but, we'll get back to track with the updates of Cosmos Clique (including back dated entries). Hi Everyone! We would like to officially introduce our new Cosmos Clique member, and here's the story...  On the Christmas day this year, my sister and I went to visit our relatives who are staying in the far end of Singapore in the late evening (yesterday). After the visiting, we decided to visit the nearby park (there's a stadium within the park too) since the last time we were there was like at least 10 years ago. Not long after we reach the stadium area that's in the park, our attention was caught by a PRC family's kid. Out of curiosity, we went forward to find out more and there, we saw the kid spotted a turtle.  It is a Malayan Box Turtle aka MBT (sounds familiar huh? It's the same species as our Xing Yue~), and it appears to be an adult turtle as observed from its size and the height of its doom shaped shell. The turtle was so scared and intimidated by the PRC family such that it went hiding into its shell totally! Just as we were about to walk away from the steep slope where the MBT was found, we saw the oldest member (probably the grandfather) picking up the turtle and turn its plastron up towards him for his own viewing. I was really pissed off by that old member's action as he is intimidating the poor turtle even further! So I went forward to the family and overheard the old member's nonsense: "It's not dead, it cant die that easily," I was like seriously??? What the hell nonsense are you blabbering to the poor turtle! I asked the old member politely to put the turtle back to the ground and told him that his action will only cause more fear and stress to the turtle. And so the old member placed the turtle back to the ground and their family left the area after a couple of minutes. As we walked back after going a big round along the lake, we saw the MBT still around the same area and we thought that it's weird. We walked around the lake a few times more but did not see any turtle nor terrapin at all. So we went towards the turtle and poor some water on fresh big leaves for it to drink), we were really concern and worried about the turtle and suspect that it might not be wild, but more of a captive turtle.  Perhaps it was being abandon in the park, as the spot where we saw it does not make any sense at all:
Not bearable to leave the turtle behind like that, we decided to bring it home (of course, after our mum's advice). We put the turtle into a big plastic bag which we happen to bring around and took it to the toilet for wash up. Still a little concern if this turtle is from the wild, we stopped for a moment and i said to the turtle that we are going to bring him/her home, if he/she does not want to be with us, simply moves while I count to 10. And surprisingly, the turtle did not move at all and was looking at me. After bringing the MBT home, we wash it up further more and brushes its shell. Judging from the appearance and size, we presume that this turtle is a female, and since we decided to keep her for long, my sister named her as Liu Xing, which means Meteor in Chinese. We are not putting LX with the Cosmos babies yet as we are not sure if LX has any health conditions at the moment, and her size is simply too big as compared to them. Christmas is usually deem as just a public holiday for people to get together, but this year's Christmas is so special as we receive Liu Xing as a X'mas gift.  Liu Xing is cute too isn't she?? Hi All!!
Today, we are proud to present to you something new... The Cosmic Style~
What??? Cos...mic sty...style?
What the heck is that? New group of turtles??
If that's all you can guess... I would be kind of disappointed eh.
So, basically, what is The Cosmic Style and what does it even means?
All this while, since the arrival of Xing Yue and the YGs, we have been kind of 'making fun of the Cosmos Clique' out of their photos.
Thinking that it would be kind of wasted not to share our humorous side, yet it should be presented in a unique way, like how The Cosmos Clique came about, just a few moments ago... something strikes FiOh~
Hence, it has been decided that from today onward, we will be (officially) sharing the Cosmic Style on Cosmos blog too! Have you guessed what is it thus far?
Note that actually, the Cosmic Style has always been lurking around on this blog... =X

Nightmare 20.07.2014 Gave Cosmos the 2 floating platform today, later in the evening to find Yue Guang missing from main tank. Got super freaked out and worried, searched within and outside of the house with great fear, of Yue falling to death from the small gap along the small drain of corridor outside of house. Lucky to find Yue hiding under one of the plastic shelves. Lesson learnt - avoid easy escape with the aid of floating platform, as well as to watch over Cosmos if giving them high basking area near to the brim of tank. Xing Yue: "I'll wait here for little white to stop swinging around~"
Today afternoon, in order to lure the Cosmos up to the floating platform for basking, we actually came up with the idea of hanging their fav snack, I mean their fav turtle conditioner (we call it Xiao Bai) on top of the floating platform area. Never did we expect to see Xing Yue's reaction upon seeing Xiao Bai. Cute! As usual, Cosmos babies are chilling away in their weekend tank setup...
So, we took the chance to take some candid shots~
 
You could tell that Yang Guang does take notices of us, even Yue Guang came out from his comfort zone too!
  
What's more, after plenty of shots, Cosmos babies even starts to form into their own line up and pose for the camera!
  
And right after the photo shoot session ended (they thought it ended LOL), some one starts to drift away slowly...

New taller and longer tank, for feeding as well as 'warming time' (Cosmos will be soaked in a tank of warm water, to help them in their digestion.)

Cosmos Clique is the name for all our 5 lovely pet turtles.
We found a Malayan Box Turtle (MBT) hatchling in the neighborhood park and 'adopted' him back home on 14th Feb 2014. We named him Xing Yue (Starry Moon).
On 15th Mar 2014, we purchased 2 Red-Eared Sliders (RES) hatchling from local pet shop to keep Xing Yue accompanied. We named the two RES as Yang Guang (Sunlight) and Yue Guang (Moon Light). The three of them started bonding since then.
On 25th Dec 2014, after Christmas visiting, we rescued an abandoned adult Malayan Box Turtle (MBT) from the nearby park. We named her as Liu Xing (Meteor). She is the only Princess in the Cosmos Clique~
As Liu Xing is too big sized compared to Xing Yue and we wanted to find a buddy for him, we later manged to purchase one from a seller met online, however, it turns out that this adult MBT we got from the seller is in a very bad shape (serious health issues) and the seller 'ran away' from his guilty acts. Despite the bad health conditions, with daily TLC, we managed to get our 5th Cosmos member back to health. We named him Yin He (Galaxy).
As we treat Cosmos Clique just like our family members, we too celebrate their birthday for them. Because we do not have any actual info of their birth dates, we have decided to set their birthday as the date they joins our family.
We usually refer Xing Yue, Yang Guang and Yue Guang as 'Babies' as they became our family members when they were hatchlings. Besides feeding them their Breakfast and Dinner in their respective feeding tanks, Cosmos' typical day includes having chill-lax (walking) session within a customised barricade that we built from scratch. Within the barricade, we gave them lots of colourful rubber balls, dish of water as well as some magnetic floating platforms.
On the weekend, we would aim to catch the natural sun rays before 11:30 AM in the morning and bring Cosmos down to the patches of grass for a 30 minutes basking session (of course, within their outdoor barricade). Cosmos Clique are getting popular with the adults and kids in the neighbourhood too!
